Kimberly Aland - Day One

I was so excited to have my own seat on our flight from Charlotte to Dublin...until a plump and out-of-breath woman promptly placed her purse on the seat next to me. I was disappointed for a millisecond until I heard her gorgeous Irish accent apologizing for being in my way. Her name was Gabrielle and she is a Dublin local who was returning home from Hilton Head.

Talking to her about Irish life and the comparisons between Pittsburgh and Dublin got me so excited for this trip. Though, it wasn't real until we reached Ireland. I excitedly tapped on the poor woman's shoulder when I first saw the land mass. I thought it was an island at first because it looked like water surrounded it, but Gabrielle told me it was the Kinvara Bay and that the entire land was indeed Ireland.

Fast forward from that embarrassing moment, and I've seen the Galway cathedral and had an Irish cider and learned about Claddaugh rings (and bought one) and tried duck for the first time. There are so many more adventures to come, but for now I'll be exploring Kinvara!
