Kimberly Aland - Day Seven

We finally got to visit the Edinburgh castle yesterday morning. I had the chance to see the breathtaking Crown Jewels, so the royal sceptre, sword, and crown. The castle is more open than I had anticipated. There was lots  to see including cannons, prisons, and original architecture.

My favorite part of yesterday was the theater. We went to see The King's Speech. I had seen the movie a few years ago, but was so happy to see the live version. It was just as witty and wonderful.

Today we saw the Scottish parliament and got a tour of the building. The architecture was thought-provoking and subject to interpretation. Much of the art was inspired by Scottish culture, though the building is quite modern.

Now off to Arthur's Seat, a dormant volcano. Pictures to come soon!
