After a SLIGHT delay, we finally made it to Scotland.
Because of the delay, we did not really get a chance to experience Edinburgh to
its fullest potential before nightfall. However, we did get the chance to learn
about the city’s literary prowess.
Within Edinburgh, authors have found inspiration for stories
over the years in simple things. For instance, J.K. Rowling found inspiration
for one of her seven Harry Potter texts
within a coffee shop called “Spoons.” Likewise, Sir Canon Doyle and Robert
Louis Stevenson found inspiration for their texts Sherlock Holmes and Treasure
Island in a restaurant called “Ciao Roma.”
To me, it is amazing that simple places, things or
environments can inspire an author to create a literary masterpiece. I simply
cannot wait to learn about other authors from or inspired by Edinburgh.
The inspiration for J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series
