So I must admit that I had a much better time today than I did yesterday. After a full Irish breakfast at our B&B, we headed to the Kiltartan Gregory Museum, where we learned some of the history surrounding W.B. Yeats and Lady Gregory. Creepy child recordings in the classroom aside, it was a nice facility with lots of local history. Then, we visited the "signature tree", where lots of famous people through history had signed their names into its bark. Next we had some marvelous scones and tea. Although I've had both before I never had them together and they tasted wonderful. Then came what was my personal favorite part of the day: visiting the Cliffs of Moher. It, along with the drive around the area that followed, embodied how I had always pictured Ireland. The cliffs were a sight to behold, and will probably be one of the most memorable sites we visit for me. When I had always pictured Ireland in my mind (minus the pubs), the Cliffs were what I saw, and it was amazing to finally be able to see the beautiful nature side of Ireland. Now, we will, once again, be going out to explore the charming town of Kinvara, most likely to experience true Irish music and drink.
Signing off,
Ethan Heinl
