The past two days have been filled with many intriguing activities. Yesterday, we visited a couple of the local museums, including the Scotland National Museum and Old Moray House. Following that, we had lunch at Deacon Brodie's, a pub where famous writer Robert Louis Stevenson once drank and wrote. Later that day, we took a tour of Mary Kings Close, which was truly fascinating. I've always been fascinated in hauntings and the supernatural, so hearing the ghost stories about the city beneath Edinburgh was truly amazing. Today, we finally got to visit an authentic Scottish castle, and it was as astonishing as I thought it'd be. The guards there were in full uniform, there were demonstrations, and the overall look and feel of the historical castle were preserved miraculously (see picture below). We then visited the Writers Museum, which, being a bit of a writer myself, was very intriguing. Although not as part of the group, soon after that Hollie and I had the privilege to see a full-blown adult owl close up, and Hollie even got to hold it (see picture). Later, after a nice dinner, we got to view the Kings Speech at the theater, and I found it to be a beautiful play. Overall, I'm loving my time in Scotland, and I'm hoping our last day will be a nice ending to our study abroad experience.
Signing off,
