Eric Cosmides Day 6

Captain's log, stardate 52115.6

Our second day in Scotland was a lot of fun, we went on a walking tour of some parts of The University of Edinburgh, we looked inside a class room and an old style Montessori School. We then walked to the Royal Mile and toured a peoples museum where they had a lot of artifacts of the working class struggles for better working conditions and safety standards. It also included a lot about the Scottish Socialist movement and the power behind the peoples organization to fight for equality for people of different religion, sexual orientation and race. We then went to lunch at Deacon Brodies Tavern, and then to the Scottish National Museum to see some of the exhibits that were on display. I went to see some statues carved out of various types of materials. They also had artifacts from the Battle of Waterloo (the 200 year anniversary of which is in June) on display as well, they were quite interesting to see as this battle brought the defeat of Napoleon. After touring the Scottish National Museum we were on our own until the evening where we had a tour of the underground of Scotland in Mary King's Close. We ventured underground to see some of the old houses and streets of Scotland which were infected severely with the black plague. This was quite an interesting tour to go on because the amount of the city that remains underneath present day Edinburgh is quite astonishing.
